AHC: Communist Hungary survives

This is unlikely unless the Bolsheviks both crush the Whites earlier and do better (and again earlier) against the Poles, so that Carpatho-Ruthenia and what was southeast Poland in the interwar period in OTL become part of a Soviet Ukraine linking Soviet Russia with Bela Kun's Republic of Councils. If that happens, with Soviet power extended almost all the way to Vienna, the entire Little Entente, including Czechoslovakia, is going to be violently anti-Communist. (Even in OTL Czechoslovakia did not really develop good relations with the USSR until after the rise of Hitler.)

IMO Bela Kun is still going to be purged in the 1930's and replaced by someone Stalin regards as a more dependable puppet like Rakosi. Red Hungary will be too small, too dependent on Soviet military and security forces, etc for a successful "Titoism." (A closer analogy might be Outer Mongolia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalinist_repressions_in_Mongolia)

Basically Bela Kun's regime was surrounded by enemies on all fronts: the Romanians, the Czechoslovaks, the Entente and the White Hungarians. It just wasn't able to fight them all.

Assuming of course that Stalin ends up in power still. He could be killed in the civil war, slip on an icy step and crack his head open, choke on some food, or meet any manner of untimely ends.

Living standarts today would be much higher, with an earlier industrialisation and no 3 more decades of agrarianism and monarchy.

Because the eastern bloc was the pinnacle of global living standards.

No more agrarianism as in do such a crap job in the agriculture sector with collective farming that you turn wheat-exporting provinces into wheat importing provinces?

You realize that the "monarchy" was more of a nostalgic state. It wasn't really a monarchy. Hungary historically a kingdom and its original territories were the territories under the Kingdom of St. Stephen. Thus, resurrecting the monarchy means going back to the days of the old (meaning reverse Trianon). It was not a true monarchy. Rather, it was a rightwing authoritarian government like Italy and by the early 30's Germany. You can say that was also bad but your critiques of it would not be a criticism of de facto monarchy. It was only a monarchy on paper.

Living standards would have been better for all of Eastern Europe had it not been part of the Eastern bloc but instead the Western bloc. The economic state of West and East Germany is a great example of this.

Stalin didn't fall from the Moon. If our Stalin wasn't created by the young party nomenklatura, they would have created someone else.
