AHC: Christian Andalus

The goal is to have what was the Caliphate of Cordoba become Christianized and survive with Arab rulers.

Preferable if Arabic remains as the language of the populace and of governance. If the Christian Andalus is not Catholic, then Arabic can somehow be adopted as a liturgical language.

Christianity was tolerated in Cordoba until about 850. Indeed, much of the civil governance was carried out by Spanish Christians, so all you need is for one of those guys, or maybe a saintly person, to convert any Umayyad ruler before Abd al-Rahman II to Catholic Christianity. Then the Muslim occupiers follow suit on the orders of their Emir and somehow the Berbers aren't too pissed off during all of this.

Another possible PoD, but following the same sequence of events: Omar, younger son of Abd al-Rahman I converts to Christianity instead of being executed by Fruela I of Asturias, and subsequently gains the throne c. 800 on the back of an uprising of some sort during the battle for the throne between Sulayman ibn Abd al-Rahman and Al-Hakam I.
