AHC Charles X Bourbon remaims King of France

If Charles X had gotten wind of the treason that his cousin Louis Philippe was plotting in early July 1830, he could have had aspiring usurper arrested, if not executed. With Louis Phillipe out the the picture, the King's liberal opponents would not have an obvious credible candidate for the French throne. The July Revolution could proceed roughly according to OTL, with Royal troops being driven out the the city and the Parisian mob ascendant. Without Louis Phillipe available as a pragmatic compromise, the only remaining option would be a Republic (I think it is a bit too soon to contemplate a Bonaparte restoration).

The establishment of a 2nd French Republic would probably shock the Concert of Europe into action. Intervention by the Concert might be slow, especially from Russia, but the Austrians had suffered far too many defeats from Revolutionary France to allow another Republican regime to take power in that country. An Austrian military intervention could be organized, march into France, and restore Charles X to power with their bayonets. This would not have to involve heavy street fighting, simply besieging the city would be far less bloody, but not less effective. With the Paris mobs and rebel soldiers subdued, there really would not remain a core for any sort of revolutionary regime. Charles X would regain his throne, which he could sit uneasily on.

So tell me what ramifications does this have for France and how different would the world wars be...

Bump... Come on is it really asb

IMHO, yes! Charles X, unlike his brother Louis XVIII, learned nothing from the Revolution and was totally unsuited to being king in the 1820.

A more realistic option would be to try to keep the elder branch of the Bourbons on the throne. For this, you'd need Charles to die before his brother Louis XVIII in 1824. Charles's son Angoulême would succeed as Louis XIX - he'd be only marginally better suited for the throne than his father, but less likely to try to restaure the absolute monarchy. He could die in 1844, as in OTL, or even earlier (the strain of power...) And then the young miracle-child Henri V (born in 1820) could reign and prevent the accession of the Orléans.

P.S.: I don't think there is much point in preventing the Duke of Berry's assassination in 1820 (he was the father of Henri V and the cadet son of Charles X). As a ruler in these troubled times, he would not be much better than his father.
