AHC Challenge: Create a explanation for this map from a "Stalingrad" game I found on the web.

While browsing the web, I found this photo of an Avalon Hill Stalingrad game, with maybe the biggest hole I've seen on the Eastern Front in 37 years of wargaming. You challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to provide an explanation for this.

Without knowing the turn its really difficult. I have seen things close to this bad for the Red player, but usually they will concede before it gets this far.

It does occur to me Red has 72 replacement points sandbagged & Blue is in for a nasty shock :eek:
 
heh. Back when Avalon Hill was alive, they used to talk about this classic game in The General a lot, and the consensus seemed to be that Stalingrad was damn hard for the Germans to win, due to the victory conditions (something about holding three cities simultaneously at the end of the game)...
