AHC: Centralized Protestant Movement vs. Fragmented Catholic Church

The challenge is to come up with a PoD which results in a more centralized and structured Protestant movement, as well as a splintered Catholic church with many independent sects and denominations, where the old Papacy has little real influence. PoD must be after the reformation.

Let Rome fall to the infidels. Between 900 and 1453 it is impossible to do so. Either before 900 or after 1453. If the Ottomans do it you can have the French, the Spanish, the Polish to appoint popes for example.

I suspect that a "centralised and structured Protestant movement" would need to ditch the principles of Sola Scriptura and Solus Deus, in which case it wouldn't really count as Protestant.
