AHC: Canadian Civil War

So from the 1790s till 1860 create a Canadian civil war it can have any cause or group of causes it can have any outcome.

How plausible was it?
 
I suppose if somehow the conscription crisis got worst than otl you could see some kind of limited uprising in Quebec but that would be crushed pretty quickly and would probably be considered a rebellion at best.
 
Firstly, this is impossible, by definition. Canada didn't become a 'country' on its own until... Well, probably the Statute of Westminster in 1931 (although other dates are possible).

Before that, certainly before WWI, you CAN'T have a Canadian Civil War, you have a rebellion in a British colony.

Look at the number of people involved, especially the Upper Canada one. Getting them blown up to 'civil war' would require massive changes.

No, they're not. Not really. You've got a couple of smallish rebellions in remote areas that aren't even part of a province yet. One doesn't call Sioux uprisings (say) American Civil Wars....
