AHC: British Revolution

Alternate History Challenge:

Make a British Revolution (similar to the Russian one) happen at some point in the 20th Century, with PODs at the earliest 1914 or at the latest 1945. World War I and II do not need to happen, but extra points if they still do.

Perhaps somehow wank the 1926 general strike into a socialist revolution? That's all I've got for now.

Unfortunately for that idea, the TUC were determined to avoid a strike and then were determined to get a deal with the government at all costs.

One idea is to have WWI come to a stalemate and force both sides to the table, a lack of victory makes the public reject the "established traitors", to also increase revolution chances, you could also do what I did and have Horatio Bottomley join the Cabinet, he'd resign if the Treaty was anything but a victory for Britain and could form his "Great Third Party" with splinters from the Liberals and Conservatives. As Horatio Bottomley gains more parties under the banner of anti-socialism he manages to force a coalition between him and the Conservatives during the mid-20s and starts a clampdown on socialists, by the time of the Depression hitting Britain, Bottomley curbs down harder and faces a revolution from previously moderate socialists and after a year long civil war is overthrown by the British Revolution.

Could a lost WW1 have done it, not to mention the depression following it, all of these things lead to a much worse 1926 strike with the TUC's backing. Some sought of Party/Organisation (possible Labour Splinter) becomes the voice of discontent, then following numerous riots throughout that month leads to a harsh crackdown on socialists which then leads to revolution...
