AHC: Bloodiest WW2 Battle occurs in North America.

Requires an Axis USA, because even if the Japanese outright killed the entire population of the Hawaiian islands, that's still fewer people than died at Stalingrad.

And Hawaii is not even part of North America altough it is part of United States. Perhaps Japan invades California? Of course not succesful for Japaneses. But perhaps you can get Mexico participate to the war.

I remember watching some crappy TL thing on YouTube about an alt WWII with a facscist Mexico, but I think a fascist USA (Or at least a fascist bit of the USA minus a few states that break off) vs. Canada and Mexico with British support might work better.

Maybe playing around with a fascist South American Union between a more fascist Vargas's Brazil and Argentina could work as an antagonist? Then they could sweep through Central America and be stopped by the US and Mexico in an enormous Stalingrad-y battle? Maybe?

A bungled response to the Great Depression leads to a second American Civil War, which drags out long enough to get subsumed in the larger World War.
