AHC: Best that manned space flight could do by present time

Moon circa 1955 ?
c/o British Interplanetary Society, who had a viable, solid-fueled Lunar mission designed in ~1938. IIRC, after seeing a fuzzy news-paper photo of the scrambled plumbing (!!) of a crashed V2, they promptly re-designed theirs for liquid fuels.

Perhaps von Braun & co got an offer they could not refuse from the UK via BIS. Especially if the USA did not so-promptly swallow their compunctions, had initially demanded their trial for war-crimes...

Ship them off to Australia, set up Woomera, get rocketeering !!
