AHC: Benedict Arnold, president of the United States.

If Wildcard wants to go that route, it's his thread, but I don't see why see have to make the most disruptive POD simple to create a situation where Quebec Senators vote for something unpopular down south and the president gets blame for it "it's those filthy papists voting" or something stupid like that. If he wanted to go that way, I think he should have asked "What if Arnold was successful in Quebec" or maybe since the answer might have been "and Congress treats him like dirt" maybe if he insisted on going that way he should have asked "What if Arnold was successful in Quebec and something kept him in the patriot camp"

Since that's not in the OP, I'm going to assume our discussion is limited to an Arnold Presidency and how he got there. As for the second question, maybe sticking with the federalists and helping Washington.

As for speculating what an Arnold presidency might do differently, it either can't take a huge expensive project, or it needs to pass a law nullifying its own debt. There are a million things to do differently that don't involve starting an expensive project. I suppose the funding could work if the states do it, the Question is does Arnold think of it? I'm don't know how well of an administrator he is.

I made the thread, yes. Everything is on the table for discussion as all my original topic is making Arnold president. How he gets there, and what he may or may not do with it is up for debate. Let's keep it civil, but everyone is free to have their own ideas and opinions.
