AHC: Australia-Hungary

In honor of memes, your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to have Australia enter into a personal union with Hungary. You can do this however you want and, while I do encourage memes, if you can do it realistically you get bonus points.

That's the most realistic solution to this imo.

Have Hungary somehow survive the Ottoman onslaught or strangle it in it's cradle, live on until the 18th century while turning to naval power (for god knows what reason), then colonize Not!Australia. The colony becomes huge, however, and in order to ensure stability in the new Hungarian colonial empire, the monarch decides to federalize it and turn it into a dual monarchy.

It would almost certainly not be called "Australia-Hungary", though, sorry.

Britain invades Hungary sometime in the late 1700s/early 1800s and ships the Royal Family off to one of the penal colonies in Australia. Hungarian refugees flee to join their King, form a colony they call New Hungary. The Rum Rebellion or some ATL equivalent goes sour, some Australian colonies declare independence and form a union with New Hungary, which drops the "New" after Britain turns their old country into a bunch of... crumpet farms? Statues of Horatio Nelson? I dunno. Anyway, badda bing badda boom, Australia-Hungary!
