AHC and WI: "Successful" Bacon's Rebellion

This idea's been tinkered with before, but I wanted to give it another shot (esp since it overlaps with a very rough idea I've been having) -- namely, how can Bacon's Rebellion be a greater success than OTL?

Say, Nathaniel Bacon doesn't die of dysentery? Or maybe John Washington takes over? Could they establish a "republic" or sorts in the west? Or just fight a guerilla war against British reinforcements long enough for the later to for the later to die of disease? Or something else?

If Bacon doesn't die, the rebels can weasel some concessions out of the colonial governor. They're not dumb enough to proclaim an independent republic (as far as I know). All they wanted was for the issues with the raiding tribes to be dealt with by the colonial government, along with some reforms regarding indentured servants creating a glut in the labor market.
