This was a battle during the Philadelphia Campaign that was a very near run thing, as Washington's surprise attack on the British position sent a good portion of the British into a rout. The eventual failure of the attack was due to poor weather causing American attack columns to converge on each other, as well as the critical stand made by the British 40th Foot in holding the Chew Mansion, allowing reinforcements to arrive just as the attack lost steam.

Do you see this battle as possible for Washington to win? What would be the impact of this occurring on the strategic situation around Philadelphia? How decisive could an American victory have been?

A good place to start may be with replacing Adam Stephen, who was drunk during the battle. He commanded a division, and critically mishandled the attack to the point where his men were firing on other American units.
