AHC: America is a white supremacist nation

Create a scenario where America is pretty much a white supremacist's wetdream. America is a majority white country, slavery is still legal, there is zero immigration from non-European countries and positive views on racial eugenics are still popular in the US.

(I want to say for the record that I don't endorse these views in any way. I am merely curious what people come up with)

Massive and sustained military threat, forcing a massive and ruthless priority on ultra-tight group cohesion for national security.

Basically late 19th Century America if the Civil War is avoided, although you couldn't maintain all of that in the wrong run since slavery will eventually reach a point it's just not economical to maintain.

slavery adapts.. so its not the same pick the cotton, but ultra cheap labor that can be trained and owned.
have the civil rights movement turn ultra militant.. keep segregation in place on top of 0 minority worker rights.

talk about an ugly world that would be

Slavery can indeed by adapted to industry and in fact was in the American South, but eventually industry gets advanced to the point you just can't do it anymore because it requires a degree of education, and allowing said degree will in the long term undermine the system as it allows ideas to propagate among the "chattel" as well as forms leadership cadres for revolts.

depends on how oppressive the state is

It was honestly for much of its history
It was very much so, to the point that Black People were stripped of their voting rights and citizenship (iirc) before the Civil War. Nevermind the indigenous people.

More than that, the country's upper culture was pointedly English. The Scotch Irish were openly marginalized but slowly integrated at the peripheries of where they settled. The Dutch, Germans, Swedes, French, and rare Sephardim and English Jews were barely tolerated. The Irish were tolerated at first but as immigration increased their numbers in the 1840s they came under much greater suspicion. Ben Franklin considered the term "White" quite narrowly, and applied it chiefly to English people.

I don't think white supremacy was ever set out to be the defining principle tenet of the British North American Colonies, but it was close to their core identity, and certainly a defining ancillary feature up to the Civil War.

EDIT
added "principle" & "ancillary" for clarity.

Do most white supremacists support slavery?

I believe most of them would want no non-whites of any kind, even if they are just slaves who make up .1% of the population, they might fear intermarriage and tainting the white race. This actually very doable without the slavery stipulation. The US basically was white nationalist until the 1960s.

Not possible with a POD post-1900. You can certainly delay civil rights in the South, but having America (i.e. the entire country) become South Africa writ large isn't viable.

Yea. Slavery to pick cotton will definitely faze out eventually but the more I read about the economics of slavery, especially just before and during the war, the more convinced I am that it could have continued well into the 20th century. It would indeed be a very ugly world.

Butterfly out the rise of the Nazi party and WWII and you probably have attitudes worldwide remain much closer to the median person of the 1930s, which is a level of pro-European chauvinism that many people would basically call white supremacism today. No camps and no international warfare, I'd guess no anti-racist counter culture, no shift in Western world culture, and attitudes probably generally remain at a level of chauvinism and superiority complex that's typical of OTL's contemporary non-West / OECD (Russia, China, India, etc.).

Seems like that could get you what you're looking for in OP except the slavery thing, but that's really a post 1900 POD.

Remove that big obvious lever and try to have the USA stand alone as the white supremacist nation among a West that isn't seems tougher.
