AHC: Alliance of New World republics

This challenge requires essentially a Pan-Americanism wank: at least some of the revolutionary republics of the Americas (Haiti, Gran Colombia, the FRCA, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Mexico after the abolition of its monarchy) must form some sort of defensive pact, alliance, or mutual aid treaty.

Bonus points if it lasts more than 20 years and/or fights a war against a foreign power together. Lots of bonus points if you can somehow get the USA to be a part of this, though for that to work, pro-slavery and anti-Catholic sentiment will have to be greatly reduced.

Do you mean in the 19th century? Otherwise it’s already OTL: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inter-American_Treaty_of_Reciprocal_Assistance

If you could get even one more of the nations at the Congress of Panama to ratify the treaty, you'd take a huge step down that road. IOTL it was only ratified by Columbia, but ratification by Mexico, Central America or Peru could see the establishment of a limited confederation that could survive the disintegration of Columbia.

Thanks! I knew there had been some sort of Latin American diplomatic conference shortly after the revolutions, but I couldn’t find it. This actually provides a way for the US to become part of it as well, if Southern influence is reduced (if America acquires more of Canada during its war with Britain or one or two more border states vote to abolish slavery, for example).
