If you elaborate on some aspects of it, it can show a plausible way a world without Justin Bieber can result in a Romney presidency. I never thought of Bieber's mom being part of the answer so props on coming up with that.
Well, I think most likely Mallette won't stay with that Bieber fellow she was dating, since she didn't OTL. In my first post, I mistyped that she got married, but I meant to just say "pregnant", so I edited that.
For everything else, there can be a million plausible possibilities that make it work. Maybe she goes to college in the US (North Carolina? Boston?). Maybe she goes to college in Canada but involvement in her college political groups convinces her that the only way to really
Or maybe she gets a corporate job in the US just to get away from home or just because there are more opportunities and better paying jobs.
If she happens to live in Massachusetts, she might start supporting Romney earlier in his career and continue to work with him in his presidency. Being Canadian, she might believe in Romneycare, and in her formative years she can develop any number of reasons for thinking that state-level medical insurance is better than federal-level. Or maybe she's willing to help any Republican (teaching them how to excite a crowd and smile and style their bangs), and in 2012, Romney was the one who asked her first or paid the most or seemed most electable.
If she works for Edwards, she probably hasn't developed her pro-life convictions. Edwards portrays himself as a friend of the little guy, which might be especially appealing to her. And, like the Romney case, the same chance events of history could work out -- she just happened to be in North Carolina at the right time, or Edwards just happened to be the Democrat who offered the best job. If you want to go the affair route, you could go into his dreamy eyes and his boyish good looks for a guy 20 years older than her. But let's just say she doesn't fall for a married man with a dying wife until she at least gets to know him better.
