Get Africa to split into even more nations in ever region of the continent post-WWII.
Anyone with suggestions?
West Africa, Congo and East Africa anyone?
East Africa
Tanzania could not have unified, leaving Zanzibar and Tanganyika instead of Tanzania.
Ethiopia could lose the Ogaden to Somali rebels, creating a pro-Somalia Ogaden state.
Somaliland could be recognized as fully independent by the world, splitting Somalia.
Kenyan Somalis could win independence, creating a situation similar to the Ogaden one I outlined above.
The many, many, many independence movements in Sudan could all win, creating a situation similar to post-WWI Austrio-Hungary (pretty much all of the Sudanese states out of Khartoum are in rebellion)
West Africa
Boko Haram or other Northern Independence factions could win in Nigeria. Also, the Delta State rebels could win independence in the south, crippling Nigeria and splitting it into three (or more as time goes on). Or, have Biafra win the Nigerian Civil War.
British Togoland could opt to remain part of England instead of joining Ghana in 1957.
Tuareg independence movements could succeed in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger, breaking off their northern sections.
North Africa
Western Sahara could win its independence from Morocco.
Algeria and Lybia could lose their southern regions to Tuareg independence movements.
Central Africa
The Democratic Republic of the Congo can fully collapse, losing Katanga and large portions of the east to independence movements.
English-speaking Cameroon can split off from French-speaking Cameroon (there have been rumblings).
The Central African Republic can officially split into a Christian country and a Muslim country to the north.
Southern Africa
Apartheid-South Africa could have gotten the Bantustans to be internationally recognized as independent entities.
Cabinda Province can win independence from Angola.
So the Tuareg really want Algeria and Libya to break off their portions? Last time I checked not really.
Yes Tuareg do live in Algeria and Libya but it's not like if they made noise in these two countries.
The map above is definitely what the colonial nations should have followed if they had wanted to maintain unofficial power in Africa since few, if any, of the nations could be actual successes in the world, a continent full a Rwandasand the water rights treaties in west and central Africa would be a nightmare. I would also feel sorry for the students that would have to attempt to memorize that map

Would be a pain to administer though. And considering Africa already had multicultural empires and kingdoms beofre the Europeans arrived, I have hard time seeing how the Colonial Powers would ever see it as a good idea.
