AHC: A larger Mormon church

Just as the title says, how could this be done? The first thing that comes to my mind is no polygamy.

Its pretty remarkable that it's as big as it is if you think about it, I don't think it could be much larger than it is, and it's growing everyday.

mormans move faster into more parts of Idaho Nevada/colorado/Wyoming

... there's not enough people there to give the kind of early numbers impact you're looking for. Instead, why not have the Armies of Israel expedition succeed and have the Mormons firmly entrench themselves in Clay County? Then they don't have to move as far away from the centers of population and so have more access earlier on to potential converts. Have them develop a kind of tradition of public charity/strong patriotism during the troublesome period of the 50's and Civil War: maybe earn a posative reputation by making notable and highly-covered fighting to preserve the state for the Union during the conflict in order. If you remove some of the stigma, they're likely to grow faster earlier on.

No polygamy before then they were gaining converts as far away as Britain and France in mass number coming to illoni so that all you need to do

Have JS never publish the book of Abraham. As far as I can tell, as soon as egyptologists get their hands on the papyrus, the church's ability to get too large is significantly hampered.

Its worth noting that whilst this is technically true, its recruitment has been getting smaller and smaller whilst a lot of people leave unofficially due to how hard it can be to leave offficially.
