AHC: A Kido Butai Carrier survives WWII

How about a p.o.d. where the Japanese govt and military ordered the bio and chem weapons research project on the mainland to evacuate there research and personnel before the reds get to them?

What if a carrier was dispatched to ensure transport of everything important and valuable back to Japan?

Then imagine a breach of containment of a nerve agent or something during transit.

Cue Red forces seizure of an adrift Aircraft Carrier and claiming salvage rights to the vessel and everything on it.

Did the Soviets have forces in the Sea of Japan to make that seizure? I'm not being sarcastic; I've simply discovered a gap in my knowledge. It's a pretty short trip, and even late in the war there would have been an escort. Worst-case scenario, the escorting destroyer(s) sink(s) the derelict.
