I'm sure we are all familiar with the British proposal for Operation Vegetarian--it gets posted here once a month or so. Most of you also know that Colonel Ishii and Unit 731 tried to develop bacteriological weapons for Imperial Japan. They actually did develop some germ bombs that were dropped on Chinese cities. What happens if 731 manages to develop a weapon of near-Vegetarian effectiveness?

The weapon should be capable of killing similar percentages of the targeted population as the British plan would have, although it does not have to attack via the food supply. What happens if Imperial Japan manages to create such a weapon? I'm sure it will be used against China--who else might be targeted? Does it make a difference to the length and the course of the war?

Does this qualify as a Vlad Tepes Award candidate? This shouldn't need to be said, but I want to put down here that I by no means approve of the actions of Colonel Ishii and Unit 731.
