AHC: A disunited Arabian Peninsula

The scenario is simple: create a alternate timeline in which Saudi Arabia does not exist as a country, but is instead divided among emirates controlled by houses opposed to the House of Saud?

I guess in theory, you would get a state for each of these traditional regions of the Arabian peninsula. But I'm not sure of the viability of some of them as independent states.

The Arabian Peninsula is already disunited. It contains at least seven countries, nine if you include Iraq and Jordan.

But that's like saying South America is already disunited when it could be much, much more disunited. The very fragmented and tribal population has encouraged this historically.

The easiest one IMO is to have a Failed-Yarmouk, but that might be a teensy bit too far back.

Alternatively, a No-Wahabbism scenario might do the trick. Possibly combined with a Israel-Evicts scenario.

(The latter essentially causing instability because of the sudden influx of people.)

4 is easy - Asir was IIRC autonomous pre-WW1, Hedjaz was independent after the war, and if you split the rest between the two rival dynasties (IIRC it is Rashid and Saud) you have modern Saudi Arabia actually formed of 4 different countries.
