AHC: 1848 Revolutions Succeed

Basically, whether it is possible for the revolutions of 1848 to succeed in establishing substantive, long-term changes to the social structure of Europe, either through success of the revolutions or radical change of the balance of power in Europe.

Everything else is open.

Uh, all of them?

Cause I think some might be mutually exclusive. :p

Not necessarily, but yes the Polish and German revolutionaries will have conflict, as so too will the Hungarians, Serbians, and Romanians. Italians and Germans could also grapple if the latter goes for the Großdeutsche Lösung. If things had gone differently in Belgium and the Netherlands that might have brought the German, French, and Dutch revolutionaries/reformists into conflict as well. Same situation with the Italians and the former two in Switzerland as well.

Also consider the various reactionary factions that might not necessarily get along. The Austroslavics for example would oppose Großdeutschland just as much as Bismark's new conservatives, but that doesn't mean either one would be willing to work together.

To the OP, you should check the link in my signature ;)

Hungary, and Belgiums were the most like to suceed IMO. Hungary`s only failed because of Russia. Austria's too may have led to a more liberal Austrian rump state. The German ones did in a way succeed but failed as they couldn't force the monarchs to do anything.

I'm going to be dabbling with some of them in my TL ;) (shameless advertising)

Actually the Austrians had pretty much defeated the Hungarians before Russia intervened.
