I saw this video today:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urFHkqgqAN4 and while it is clearly an April Fool's joke, and all the fictional countries in the list are not super well thought through, I thought it could be a fun Alternate History Challenge.
So the challenge is to come up with the history of how these countries came to be in a single paragraph. You can do it for one of these countries, or for as many as you like. Let's see how many of these we can produce in a day or two.
I'll get the ball rolling with one for Royal Hispaniola.
Royal Hispaniola
Jean Pierre Boyer, a President of Haiti which rules all of Hispaniola, puts down Charles Rivière-Hérard's revolt in early 1843. Boyer, now 67 years old decides to solidify his rule, by changing the country's name to Hispaniola to better incorporate the east, and by declaring himself King. He dies in 1847, and is succeeded by his son. There is a small revolt, upon Boyer's death, but he had co-opted enough of the local elites to make it unsuccessful. The son, King Jean-Remy, reigns until 1872, when his nephew King Jean Pierre II comes to the throne, and introduces a more liberal constitution. The stability of this increasingly constitutional monarchy, allows the country to survive until the present day.
