AH WI: Anne Frank Survives

Let's say like OTL Anne Frank gets arrested by the Gestapo in 1944 and is sent to the concentration camps. However she unlike OTL manages to survive the experience, her father (who survived OTL) survives and they publish the diary and it gains popularity like OTL. What would be the effects of a living Anne Frank?

She appears at the opening of various Holocaust museums later in life, and lives in Israel. She'd probably still be alive today.

Yea, honestly a lot of the appeal of the diary comes from the fact that after reading it, History and English teachers state loudly "SHE DIED". And everyone in the class cries.

lives in Israel.

That's possible, but not certain. After all, her father, who survived the war, didn't. But perhaps he would have, if he had the responsibility for the future of a child.

Most likely, she would lead a fairly anonymous life, although it's not excluded her diary would have been published eventually (but without the impact, and perhaps much later).

And yet everyone stills read Night in school these days, and Elie lived.

In my opinion she would have become one of the most important Dutch writers in history. She already is and she only published one book. Anne Frank might not have been known outside of the Netherlands, but her books, including her diary (probably adapted in some way) would be read here.
I am not sure she would have gone to Israel, she was Dutch (well sort of at least) and wanted to write in Dutch, instead of writing in an entire new language. Even if she would go to Israel, she would become a Dutch writer.

Also I doubt she would ever go into politics and lead either Israel or the Netherlands.

Actually it's quite likely none of us would have ever heard of her. Her living, means she likely hangs on to that oh so famous diary, and it never gets published.
