AH query based on CLEAR & PRESENT DANGER

OK, in CAPD, the main US black ops protagonists are light inf grunts such as Domingo 'Ding' Chavez-primarily Hispanics- drawn from the light coys of regular inf divs such as the 7th HOURGLASS, 10th Mountain & 25th TROPIC LIGHTNING, based on the rationale that the SOCOM community is too small & noticeable such that any deployment of Delta, Rangers, SEALs et al would draw too much attention- whereas taking a few hundred regular but exceptional skilled & experienced guys from regular Army outfits would provide a bigger pool of quality manpower with similar skills to the special operators, & draw less attention.

Now, just needing to know bout the plausibility of such a scenario ?

I haven't read CAPD in a while but the point of special forces like the SEALs, Delta Force, Rangers etc. is that you don't know where they're going. For whatever minescule possibility that someone will notice you're sending them to some undefined location, there's a much greater possibility that people will notice you're researching the service records and interviewing the superior officers of tens of thousands of men to find the best among them. That said, it's not an impossible scenario, especially if everyone has to conform to a specific requirement (i.e. everyone has to be Hispanic, speak Chinese etc.), simply because there aren't all that many guys in the Special Forces.
