AH Discussion: Life in a Dutch North America

Hello everyone!
As some of you may know, I previously attempted to write a timeline and story relating to a modern Dutch-semiwank empire. The Empire consisted of many psuedo-independent polities, confederated in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, I know very little about the Dutch as a people (quite unfortunate really, seeing as I am in love with both Dutch art and History) and really buggered up the timeline. I'd like everyone's opinion of modern life in a metropolitan, commercial, Dutch colony in North America encompassing OTL New York through Ohio and North Carolina.

Thanks in advance!

Should be a DBWI I think. Also with a POD before 1900 it should be in the pre 1900 forum.

Thanks for that! (I must've Brain-farted :p)
I figured that since the discussion was on the modern aspects of the culture, it'd be valid. Please feel free to both look at my new thread on a similar subject in the Pre-1900 forum, and to allow this thread to whither away.
