AH Challenge: What would happen if these guys were the Presidents?

Just a challenge. Whoever can make the most plausible, medium-in-lengthest, exciting, and coolest summary of this Presidential List and its effect wins a prize.

The List:

Theodore Roosevelt, 1901 - 1908 and 1913 - 1921. (Republican, later Progressive) (Served full 4 non-consecutive terms.)
John Pershing, 1921 - 1927 (Independent) (Died by small bomb in second term.)
Al Smith, 1927 - 1937 (Democrat) (took over after Pershing, won 2 of his own terms)
Franklin Roosevelt, 1937 - 1948 (Democrat) (Died in a fire before '48 elections.)
Huey Long, 1948 - 1949 (Democrat) (Provisionary)
Thomas Dewey, 1949 - 1957 (Republican)
Micheal DiSallie, 1957 - 1962 (Democrat) (Died by getting shot, VP died as well.)
Richard Nixon, 1962 - 1974 (Republican) (Succeeded DiSallie, Resigned in 1974 due to Watergate.)
George Romney, 1974 - 1977 (Republican) (Succeeded Nixon, lost nomination in 1977)
Ted Kennedy, 1977 - 1981 (Republican) (Beat Romney in nomination)
Bob Dole, 1981 - 1993 (Democrat) (Did not run in 1992 due to health reasons.)
Joe Biden, 1993 - 2001 (Republican) (Chose not to run in 2000.)
Al Gore, 2001 - 2005 (Republican)
Sam Nunn, 2005 - Present (Democrat) (Incumbent)

Your mission, take it if you wish.

ARGH! NO BOB DOLE. VERY BAD. Otherwise, very interesting. I'll think of something.

With Theodore Roosevelt leading longer, America may a superpower much quicker and of course leading America into WW1 earlier.

I disagree on the first point. America's ascent to superpower status has more to do with things TR couldn't control - economic growth & the destruction of most of the other great powers during WWII... But he probably would lead us to WWI earlier.

Hmm, some of the party affiliations seem a little weird. I can't really see the sons of Joseph Kennedy and Al Gore, Sr. abandoning their fathers' party without a VERY good reason (and being able to win elections afterwards), and I don't think Ted would become president unless something happened to Joe, Jack, AND Bobby. Dole as a democrat kind of falls into a gray area, since he was a moderate who greatly supported civil rights, though its more plausible than some of the others. I'll try and think of something later.

The Democrats and Republicans have switched views due to TR and Dewey, JPK Sr. probably wouldn't care though, or we could kill him off in the late 40's. Bob Dole can more Conservative and silent on Civil Rights.

How come the assassinated Democrat, Michael DiSallie (who he?) is succeeded in a non-election year by a Republican?

The VP died in the shooting as well, so Richard Nixon, The Speaker of House (of whatever you want him to be) became President, due to no VP available.

I have to take issue you here, Bob Dole was one the better presidents we never had. Had the course of history been slightly altered its highly conceivable that Bob Dole would have been elected president; as early as 1976 or perhaps as late as 1996.

I think OTL Bob Dole is very similar to OTL Ronald Reagan, and int his AH Challenge, I see ATL Dole as a likely Populist.

Mr. Evangelical:

God Forbid, Joe Biden a REPUBLICAN!!:eek::eek:

But he would have been (and could be) a good president.

Not that I'm prejudiced, you understand;)
