Ok I thought up a quick and dirty TL, the details may be a bit hairy, but in all I think the main points are possible.
Replace hitler at some point with a leader who is more pragmatic, but still hates the Russians and is less antisemitic(no holocaust). He decides to take out the smaller players and eliminate distractions first so goes to war against the western powers like hitler did prior to barbarossa, however in stead of attacking Russia he goes Southeast and takes Greece, Turkey, and then Iraq. Earlier on he makes a deal with Franco for Ghibraltar and gives him pretty much gives him whatever he wants in exchange. This closes off the straight from the British, it doesn't keep them out of Africa or the Medditerranian, but makes things a lot harder for them. Stalin finally gets an itchy trigger finger and invades through Poland, Germany counterattacks through Turkey and goes the short route to the caucuses and cuts off Stalins oil supplies, and bombs Russian cities into rubbel. Due to no holocaust Germany still has some Jewish scientists it didn't have in OTL and developes a nuke by 45. The Russians and British negociate a peace treaty, but are both relegated to 2nd rate power status. The Russians continue to support the Chinese against chiang and by 49 the Communists have won, China is now the senior power in stead of Russia due to Russia losing so much in WWII. The Germans stay neutral after Pearl Harbor. The US crushes the Japanese by 45 or 46 and now are the only other Major power left. As an extra you can have the US get involved in the war in europe through some kind of incident involving the sinking of US shipping in the atlantic by the KM. After several years of fighting the Allies conquer Spain, north africa, and the southern half of Italy before the Germans get nukes. You wind up with a Nazi dominated Europe with Italy resembling Germany did in OTL with a Fascist north and a democratic south.
This turns out better for the US, since they can spend most of their resources pitting the Chinese against the Germans, since both parties are more worried about each other than they are about the US. You might see more domestic spending in the US than in OTL which may mean better social services and education, probably a better economic outlook for the US too. The US will probably be the main superpower by the end of the century though.
