AH Challenge: Three Term Vice President.

In the United States since the passing of the 22nd amendment a President cannot serve more then two terms in office. There is no such limit on the Vice Presidency. Your challenge is for a Vice President to serve three or more consecutive terms (thus in two different administrations) as Vice President since the ratification of the 22nd Amendment.

Bill Clinton realizes that if he makes Dan Quayle his VP as well, no one'll dare to touch him... :D

That's easy. Ford takes the VP spot he was offered in 1980. Reagan is reelected in 1984. Ford serves as Vice President under Nixon & Reagan.

True. I've always thought that if a Presidential candidate were to choose a VP candidate of the other party, they'd be sure to win, as they could capture the middle ground vote.

I was thinking more along the lines of "Oh god, Clinton has to finish serving out his term, or the consequences will be too horrible to contemplate..."

You would have to get rid of the 12th Amendment. In a nutshell, anyone who is not constitutionally eligible to be President can not be elected to the office of Vice-President.

The 22nd Amendment only really allows for ten years in office as President. 2 eight year terms, and a two year term if you are filling in for a President who has died in office.
