Ah Challenge: The History of the Canadian Royal Family

A bit bordeline ASB, but basicly make the history of a Canadian monarchy related to the British Crown in a Kingdom of Canada

How about when the British North America act in brought into law in 1867 Queen Victoria's second son Prince Alfred is made King of Canada??

Originally subordinate to Britain but over the years getting more and more independent

On a similar line when Australia becomes one colony in 1901 Alfred's brother. Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught could be made King of Australia. When the Union of South Africa becomes a single colony in 1910, Prince Charles Edward, Duke of Albany, son of Alfred's other brother Prince Leopold could become King there.

Not sure about New Zealand which gained Dominion Status in 1907. The next available royal would probably be Princess Victoria (1863-1950), eldest daughter of Queen Victoria's eldest daughter. Princess Alice (1843-1878)

I would think that she would be ineligable to become Queen of New Zealand since she was Prussian.

I got a bit confused. Princess Alice was the second daughter of Queen Victoria. She married Prince Louis of Hess and Rhine and their eldest daughter was the Princess Victoria I was talking about.

Alice actually had a son Ernest Louis but by 1907 he was onto his second marriage having divorced his first wife. Being a divorcee might have made him an "unsuitable" candidate for the throne of New Zealand by the moral standards of the day

That's sort of what I was thinking. The Prince of Wales is usually the first in the line of succession. It would stand to reason that he would be given a kingdom to rule in preperation for ruling the Empire.

A federal British Empire. Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdoms of Great Britain and Ireland(or Northern Ireland) = Empress Elizabeth I of India, Canada, Australia and all other dominions.

The Prince of Wales would succeed to the Imperial throne as suggested by Danwild and become Edward VII Emperor of India, Canada, Australia, South Africa and all other British dominions, King of Great Britain and Ireland
