1799 -- Russian-American Trading Company chartered by Tsar Paul.
1804 -- First permanent Russian settlement established at Novo-Archangelsk.
1812 -- Russians establish Krespost Rus in what is now California. They abandon it in 1841.
1849 -- Gold rush in California.
1857 -- Gold rush in Oregon.
1867 -- The US agrees to purchase Alaxsaq (which they plan to call Alaska)from Russia.
1867 -- With payment held up and the purchase agreement with the US in doubt, the Russian government looks to sell the commercial interests of the Russian-American Trading Company. A group of businessmen from San Francisco, California purchases those assets in November.
1868 -- The US House of Representatives defeats a bill that would pay for the purchase of Alaxsaq. The purchase is abandoned in July.
1868 -- A consortium of San Francisco business men have an October meeting with "high ranking administration officials" in the Republic of Oregon's capital to discuss mutual interests in Alaxsaq.
1869 -- Anticipation builds throughout the spring as rumors spread that Alaxsaq will soon declare its independence. The Republic of Alaxsaq is proclaimed on May 30.
1869 -- The Russian Empire recognizes Alaxsaq's independence in July after receiving a settlement in gold from the governments of California and Oregon.
1871 -- The Klondike region is purchased from the Hudson Bay Company.
1876 -- The border between Alaxsaq and Oregon is settled.
1896 -- The Klondike/Yukon gold rush begins.
1898 -- The Anvil/Nome gold rush begins.
1902-03 -- RCMP officers attempt to aggitate unrest among miners in the Yukon basin.
1907 -- "Berger's War" errupts in White Horse.
1912 -- Alaxsaq, California and Oregon sign the Pacific & Northwest Pact.
1918 -- Since its adoption in 1869, only one change has been made to Alaxsaq's flag. A white star was added at the end of World War I.
