AH Challenge: Realistic Second US-CS War:

The POD in question is that the Confederacy wins the war due to Johnston not being injured at Fair Oaks and Seven Pines. He fights the USA to a stalemate in the East due not squandering manpower the way Robert E. Lee did, the victory sometime in late 1863. What would be a realistic development of the US and CS armies in this scenario, and how realistically would the two end up fighting another war? Could the Confederacy force a draw in Round II somehow? Or would it end up being a state with a short and ignominious existence? What would the cultural consequences be even of two such large-scale wars in North America in the short and the long term?

Would both sides adopt peacetime conscription? What about global consequences of at least two, perhaps three (there would never be four and the second one a Pyrrhic Draw for the CSA) wars between the United States and the Confederacy? One important note to emphasize from the first is that the How Few Remain scenario is entirely unrealistic. Where both the USA and the CSA would be concerned.
