AH challenge: Rabbi Vladimir

Your challenge is to make Vladimir I of Kiev to convert into Judaism and make Russia a jewish super-power!
Bonus points if Russia and Khazaria are united (and not through conquest)

John I lives for a few more years, causing considerable butterflies to impact upon the life of Basil the Bulgar Slayer. Basil this never turns to the Rus for aid in his battles against the nobility, since these take a totally different form. Without the prospect of a Porphyrogenita for his troubles, Vladimir never converts to Christianity. Some years later, a civil war breaks out in Khazaria, and Vladimir takes the side of the victor, converting to Judaism afterward.

AFAIK he was offered to convert ot Judaism (and also Islam) but preffered Christianity. Not all that hard. Although from that point onwards crusaders might attack Russia for being heathen as part of the "eastern crusades" or whatever.

I think we had a thread similar to this last week. It's probably got some stuff worthy of Pillaging. But Geopolitics after two Jewish States exist might be interesting, especially for Jews in West/Central Europe during the "Eastern Crusades."
