This is in essence Robert Kennedy's own proposals on the subject. The press didn't spin it that way, but the effect on both campaigns would be *interesting*. As much so as the OTL October Surprise or "Are you better off..." If both are their party's nominees, it goes to the House, where Nixon is picked by the Dixiecrats. Of course, the South probably defects as per OTL to the GOP, and RFK's '76 chances go from slam-dunk to squeaker.
