AH Challenge: No Czech revival

As the title says. Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to prevent the birth of nationalist art, music, culture, etc. in Bohemia. German becomes the lingua franca: Czech culture survives only in limited respects, and few young people are really interested in reviving their language (by 2009 that is).

Bright day
Nobody really knows what made the revival work in the first place, but you would certainly have to change the educationr efrom of 1775, it provided educations to a lot of Czechs who went on to provide CZech education.

In addition, perhaps universities only teach/offer courses in German (or Latin)?

Well the Karl-Ferdinand University OTL from 1784 taught officialy only in German, but by middle of 19th century most of its students had as their primary language Czech. When the universities were split in 1881 it was because of german proffesors who feared they would be overshadowed quickly.

Maybe part of the reason of the Czech rival (and I must admit that I don´t know anything about it, so it is just a guess) is that Austria included so many different cultures, Germans, Czch, Slovaks, Hungarians, Italians, Sloves, Croats, Romanians. It seems to me that of there are so many other cultures in your country, it becomes easier to start to identify with your own, instead of the one enforced by people whose culture is only one of many. So maybe if Austria loses its Italian part and Hunagry, so Austria is basicly the German and Czech parts. If that Austria becomes part of Germany, that might help too.
