As I was reading Plutarch's Life of Antony for an exam on Thursday, I got to thinking. What if Antony had defeated Octavian? What would the results have been if he hadn't waited a year and taken advantage of Octavian's lack of preparedness in the summer of 32? Would he and Cleopatra have tried to create a Roman Empire in the East, leaving Octavian with the west, or would he have taken over the whole of the Roman Empire?
What would the lasting results have been?
