AH challenge: make the "Scorcher 6x6" a real fullsized car.

Watching this old ad for a 90s RC car that I had when I was a kid. The advertisement talks up three of the toy's features, fast, Six wheels, battery electric. I also remember the car having foward four steering (the front four wheels turn, unlike in a four wheeler where the foward two wheels turn, giving it a smaller turning radius.) So basically, I was wondering if it was possible for there to be a full sized, high speed, "6x6" electric car with foward four steering on the road by 1993?

How does a person get in or out of the Car? The third set of wheels would prevent a manufacturer from installing regular doors. Maybe Gull Wing Doors.

Did 1990 battery tech and electric motor tech exist that would allow High speed proformance from the car?

Does the Third Set of wheel improve proformance, or are they just additional weight for the Car?

Just some thoughts when I watch the ad. I remember that radio control car, I wanted one.

Okay. Interesting.

In OTL the EV1 came out durring that decade. I imagine that for an electric car to reach the speeds required (150 scale MPH) the technology would have to be a little more advanced. In OTL the EV1 was regulated at around 80MPH as higher speeds limited it's range.

The term "6x6" implies the former. I could see it being like OTL's Eliica, who's 8 wheel drive comes from individual electric motors for each wheel, rather than sharing a single engine. In fact the Ellica's speed (over 230 MPH) and acceleration (0 to 60 in four seconds) owes much to this.

I had one. It was amesome. Sadly it was murdered by a bus tire and has gone on to RC Valhalla.

I had one, too. Lovely memories ! I got one 4X4 ordinary RC car for Christmas, then made all kinf of silly things with it (jumping from high heights, Hollywood style) until it broke... quickly.
Send them the broken car back for repairs or replacement, they answered they had not this model anymore, and replaced with that marvel, for free.
I have still it somewhere at my mom attic. Heck, this thread may led to a revival, out of two decades in mothball.

It was a wonderful tool to scare Mom's hens and ducks and cats to hell. :D And the noise it made... wonderful machine. Just the battery lacked endurance  and then wait some hours.

And yes, I would die for a full scale model of it. Notably to drive in the town where I live, which is crammed with lunatic and/or hateful drivers I just hate so much. I would love to crush some of their car under six huge wheels.

If and when you do take it out of the attic, be sure to have a brief moment of silence in memory of it's departed brother that once brought me such joy.

You and me both.
