AH challenge: make chocolate a savoury snack

OK, how could chocolate, after its discovery by the Spaniards in the 16th C, have become known to the wider world as a savoury (given that the Aztecs served it with chilli & other spices) as opposed to swet snack ?
 
Mole is probably your best bet.

Also, maybe the cacao bean could be prepared similar to how coffee is prepared? I have no idea how that would turn out though.

With enough chilis, it's definitely going to be a sweat snack...

Arguably nowadays it's moving back to that. Chilli chocolate ice cream (which rocks, BTW) is gaining popularity.
