Ah Challenge: Make Batman & Robin A Blockbuster

Your challenge, should you choose to acceot it, is to make the film Batman & Robin a Blockbuster film, with a POD after Batman Forever.George Clooney must still play Batman and Chris O'Donell Must still play Robin. Mr.Freeze and Poison Ivy must still be the villians, but feel free to recast them. :) You can pick who ever you want to direct.

A much different script would help, as would removing Bane and Batgirl altogether.

Getting back to the darker vision of the Tim Burton produced films would be a huge step in the right direction.

There was a lot of problems with the old Batman series. You had it get formulaic with that whole 2 villains a film thing. You also had the bane of Superhero movies this movie series started which is the "Villain Killer Syndrome"; that's where you always end up killing the villain at the end of the movie, which is rather stupid (A, they were these epic forces in the comics and you just off them. B, logistically and if you think about it, they'd only have been villaining around for maybe a week in the movie's time, whereas they are again epic forces in the comics and have been antagonists for years, which is why they are so epic). And that gets formulaic. So I think it should break out of that box.

The problem with this film was also that the script was intended to be dumb and campy, and it was pretty much just a giant commercial for the tie in toys.

Remove Batgirl but have Bane have more of a role IMO. On paper he is a criminal mastermind, raised in prison. Keep that original bio, have Poison Ivy working in South America, find him and bring him to Gotham City, have him be the ultimate enemy.

George Clooney as Batman would be fine, O'Donnell would be okay, no Batgirl for sure. Basically make Mr. Freeze a little more grounded/less campy (like Mickey Rourke as Whiplash from what I gather from the Iron Man II trailers.)

Arnold probably has to go then but Uma should be good, just need better direction. Tim Burton is a must but should be a bit more pulled back in th absurdity of his sets, keep the dark loose the fake look.

Easiest way - turn it into The Dark Knight.
