Lets say Islam is stillborn, or the Romans and Sanssiads can stop the advance, then Constantinople remains the center of European trade for the foreseeable future. Eventually the battles over Mesopotamia will end and one power, or a new one, will establish its self there and will continue to be the gateway to the east.
If we go by that logic, its likely that Egypt will remain open to european trade as it will remain a Christian (while "heretical") region and access to the red sea will still be open. Alexandria and Constantinople will be two of the most powerful and largest cities of the world. Think New York and London.
