AH Challenge: List of US/CS Presidents from 1776 to nowadays

As I see that a lot of lists for Alternate lists of United States or Confederate States Presidents are posted in various parts of this party, I prefer to open this thread officially to see your proposals. I only have to put a few rules:

For both:
-Please indicate the President's complete name (with his used parts or nicknames outlined in bold), the years he served, his political party, his Home State, his age when he took the oath, his Vice-President (and the latter's Home State), the political opponents he defeated in elections, and if he died and resigned before his term ended, indicate the reasons.
-Will be considered President any person who have taken the oath of office; so Acting Presidents don't work.
-We will consider that your ATL politicians will have the same political views than in OTL, except maybe for their political party (if their stance change deeply; so, Reagan will never be member of a more leftist Republican Party)
-The Tecumseh Curse works in this list: any President elected in a year ending by a zero will never end his term, dying of natural or violent causes.
-Avoid ASB Presidents.

For the US:
-Please make the list of US Presidents unchanged from George Washington to Abraham Lincoln, who will still get elected by 1860.
-The US Presidents are elected for a four-year-term. They will have the right to run as many terms as they want, until one President managed to run more than two terms, such as FDR in OTL. So, if Theodore Roosevelt managed to get re-elected in 1912 according to you, his successors will never run more than two terms, except if they served for less than two years upon succeeding as Vice-President (such as Johnson in OTL)
-Between 1886 and 1947, Speaker of the House and President Pro Tempore of the Senate are excluded from the Presidential Line of Succession; the third in line is the Secretary of State.

For the CS:
-Jefferson Davis will always be the first CS President, beginning his term on 1862 as a Democrat.
-The CS President is elected for a six-year-term and is not re-eligible, except if the President' successor has served for less than two years and a half.
-In the Confederate Line of Succession, members of the Parliament are still excluded. Third in line is always the Secretary of State, and follow the other cabinet members.

I've been doing research on the issue for my TL, and have an alternate list of US presidents through 1900. However, it is disqualified because the list has been changed before Lincoln.

I would disturb it so much by making Lincoln President in 1860?

Yes, because the civil war takes place in 1856 with Fremont. Plus some small fiddling around before hand to make Texas stay independant.

I'll still post it if you want, though I don't have all the home states on hand, but they ARE from the correct side of the border, I made sure of it

Notes:

1. From 1940-1970, the winner of the Democratic primary was assured victory in the general election. Huey Long's Presidency and solidification of a populist oriented base within the Democratic Party caused the Whig Party, already substantially weakened by Democratic policies that eroded their base (the wealthy, southern aristocracy) and thoroughly discredited from their failure to achieve victory in the Great War or restore confidence in the economy from their short interregnum in power (1930-1936) to eventually collapse as a national force. The Democrats, however, would absorb many Whig refugees, allying with pro-States Rights Democrats to create a rival faction that broke from the party to form the Confederate Party under the leadership of George Wallace in 1969.

2. Gordon Robertson is the only non-politician I have on this list. He is the son of Pat Robertson, so I decided to make him an analogue of OTL's George Bush, since I obviously couldn't include the former because of his roots in New England.

...

I think I'll get to work on the U.S. shortly. I'm not sure, though, if I want both the Democrats and Republicans to stick around, or give the Socialists a chance in that timeline. Hm, decisions, decisions...

Notes:

1. The Democratic Party hasn't won a Presidential Election since 1908, though they still continue to function as a party in a similar fashion that the Liberal Democrats do in the United Kingdom. They usually ally with the Socialists on important pieces of legislation.

2. Here, we have two Jewish Presidents, something we've still yet to get in OTL. That, and I'm sure a few Catholics and Lutherans, and maybe even a nonbeliever (not sure on Berger's beliefs).

3. As you can see, a few Presidents have received their parties' nomination to seek a third term, but none have been successful. Those able to get nominated for a third term include George B. McClellan and his son, George B. McClellan, Jr., and most recently, Frank Zeidler. Therefore, the 25th Amendment or an equivalent doesn't exist ITTL.

Don't turn this into a butterfly effect argument, create another topic if you want that. Being we have no facts about alternate histories, this is all speculation yes? Roll with it. :)

Awesome set of Presidents, Freedom. Thank you for reminding everyone that the Bushes are actually Yankees in decent. ;)

This is about as far as I got. I think that much beyond this, characters would have to be totally made up. So far, the only made-up President here is Albert Clark.

US- Abraham Lincoln, Republican (1861-1869)
Pursued open relations with the CSA throughout his term, viewed by most as too soft on the CSA and hated by many for losing the war.
CS- Jefferson Davis, Democratic (1861-1867)
Ignored the US and successfully opened warm relations with European nations.
CS- Robert E. Lee, Whig (1867-1873)
Wavered between closed and open relations with the US, expanded relations with Europe.
US- Charles Sumner, American (1869-1873)
Took a hard-line stance against the CSA and soured relations with Europe, notably Britain. Oversaw move from Washington to Philadelphia.
CS- John C. Breckinridge, Whig (1873-1879)
Expanded role of CSA in the Caribbean and attempted to reopen relations with the USA. Became unpopular after it his administration revealed plans to emancipate slaves.
US- Henry Wilson, American (1873-1875)
Fumbled in attempts to normalize relations with European powers while simultaneously keeping relations with the CSA closed. Died of a stroke in 1875.
US- Benjamin Wade, American (1875-1877)
Became increasingly unpopular as Wade saber-rattled while many began to call for an opening of relations with CSA. Later joined the People's Party and supported the women's suffrage movement and socialist movement.
US- Samuel J. Tilden, People's (1877-1885)
Opened relations with the CSA and increased American influence in Europe and Central America. Expanded federal power and fought corruption.
CS- Francis Lubbok, National Democratic (1879-1885)
Further expanded CSA's military and involvement in Latin America. Instituted a Confederate version of the Monroe Doctrine. Immigration greatly increased, but standing in Europe began to suffer due to slavery.
US- George F. Edmunds, People's (1885-1889)
Greatly increased American standing in Europe and urged the CSA to end slavery. Created a military administration in Utah and denounced the Mormon Church. Implemented Prohibition and Women's Suffrage.
CS- Tom Watson, Whig (1885-1891)
Controversial. Implemented minimum wage laws and ended slavery. Won Cuba and Puerto Rico from Spain in the Caribbean War.
US- E.B. Whitney, American (1889-1893)
Increased centralization and expanded the size and influence of the Supreme Court. Failed in attempts to alienate the CSA, instead alienating the US.
CS- John Ireland, National Democratic (1891-1897)
Reversed centralization, advocated state militias, and promoted public universities. Sent an expedition to Nicaragua to investigate canal possibilities.
US- Albert Clark, People's (1893-1901)
Increased diplomatic aggression against CSA. Implemented minimum wage laws and established the first National Park in California. Worked to increase influence in Asia.
CS- James Henderson Berry, National Democratic (1897-1903)
Worked to decrease debt and unnesecary spending by the confederal government, but was at constant loggerheads with state governments. Mishandled foreign relations and soured diplomacy with much of Europe.
US- Thomas Platt, People's (1901-1909)
Expanded military and advocated naval prowess. Further worsened relations with the CSA, but secured favorable relations with Britain and Germany. Helped secure Philippine independence from Spain and annexed Hawai'i.
CS- Simon Buckner, National Democratic (1903-1909)
Oversaw completion of the Nicaragua Canal. Strongly denounced the US and repeatedly pulled diplomats from Philadelphia. Permitted expeditions to ignore borders and settle in the western US.
US- Edward Douglass White, American (1909-1913)
Threatened military action against the CSA if illegal settlements were not stopped. Supported worker's unions and trust-busting.
CS- Charles O'Ferrall, National Democratic (1909-1915)
Oversaw the abolition of state currencies and proposed the creation of a national bank. Maintained neutrality in Europe's Great War and urged the US to remain neutral.
US- William Stone, American (1913-1917)
Pursued neutrality in the Great War.

I don't think term limits would have gone through without Truman; fdr would have maintained a huge base in both houses, though might have gotten pwnd in the 46 midterms all the same, and almost certainly not losing a 48 reelection attempt....Cant we have no term limits if someone else "co-sponsors" the "repeal" of term limits? (I really want a 4-term TR but I also want to see a 3-term Coolidge w/ Hoover getting flung out w/ butterflies....3 term Ike is nice too.)

All the same till 1940....

Wendell Willkie/Dewey (1941-1944)
Thomas E. Dewey (1944-1945). Republican. VP 44-45: Robert Taft (24th amendment created in 44 allowing him to appoint his own VP without having to wait till the next term.) Didn't run in 44.

Robert A. Taft (1945-1953). Republican. VPs: Thomas A. Burke (1945-1953; didn't want a third term as VP); Dwight D. Eisenhower (1953).

Dwight D. Eisenhower (1953-1965). Republican. VP: Richard Nixon. Declined a fourth term.

Barry Goldwater (1965-1969). Republican. VP: Ronald Reagan. Declined a second term.

Ronald Reagan (1969-1989). Republican. VP: Sandra Day O'Conner (1969; a week until nominated her supreme court); George Romney (1969-1977);
Zell Miller (D) (1977-1989).

Zell Miller (D). (1989-2001). VP: John E. Bush (R) (1989-2001).

John E. "Jeb" Bush. (R) (2001-2013.) VP: George "Sonny" Purdue (R).

Ron Paul (R). (2013-2017.) VP: Michelle Bachman (R) (2013-2017.)

Michelle Bachman (R), (2017-2025.) VP: Rand Paul (R).

Rand Paul (R) (2025-2041.) VP: Mitt Romney (R) (2025-2033); Michelle Bachman (2033-2041.)
