If it isn't going to be a free country then no one will arrive.
If it is then Stalin doesn't gain much by it
And if it miraculously does gain attraction then it also eases pressure on the British Empire in the Middle East, which certainly doesn't help Stalin.
Disagree. Certainly few would come from the Americas, but Europe and Russia would supply a fair number of settlers.
"Free" or "Unfree" are very relative concepts to people who have just had their relatives made into soap. In the UK many Jewish people were sympathetic to Communism, and even prominent in the Party. With no Israel in Palestine, left leaning Jews might migrate from Arab countries, though the pogroms that accompanied the Arab Israeli conflict would be unlikely to occur. With no Israel, a Yiddish Socialist Prussian Republic would be an attractive proposition to many.
Now what about the results of this for the US? Antisemitism was not unknown in the USA, and suddenly the association between Judaism and Communism might have given a very different twist to the McCarthy witch trials...
"Are you or have you ever been a member of the KGB Mr Marx?"
"I'd never join a secret police force that would have me as a member."
"You are in contempt Mr Marx."
"That's funny, I thought I was in Washington..."
"Take the pri... witness away."
