True, the Czechs and the Poles at least had people who were alive that lived under a capitalist system.

I'm not saying a Russian transition to a Free Market economy would be easy at all, it would have been much rougher than Poland's and quite possibly impossible as you say. What I object to is the regular statements on this board that it failed when it wasn't seriously tried. Even Poland's efforts weren't as pure a transition as they are often made out to be.
