AH Challenge: Greece Remains at 1832 Borders

Your challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to, with a POD no later than the recognition of Greek independance, make Greece stay at its immeadiate post-independance borders-so no Crete, Thessaly etc. It doesn't matter who holds the OTL Greek territories. Go!

That's pretty tough. If you'll amend it to original territories plus the Ionian Islands (which were British-controlled), it's easy. Just have the Ottomans beat off the Russian invasion in 1877. Then it's unlikely Greece would have gained anything else. If you look at their gains, Thessaly was given to them for no apparent reason in the Treaty of Berlin, Crete was given to them for launching an unprovoked war of aggression against the Ottomans in which the Greeks were decisively crushed, and the Balkan Wars were only possible because of the indefensible state the Ottomans' territories were in as a result of the Berlin Treaty.

The Ionian Islands, on the other hand, were in British hands because of the Napoleonic Wars, had overwhelming Greek populations, and there was no real reason not to hand them over.
