Well, TTL equivelant of the world wars. Frankly, they can be whatever war you like, from a Second Franco-German War to a full blown World War. The challenge is to try and prevent France from taking it away, either through local war or with allies across Europe.PoD of 1815 and still two world wars? Man, that must be some large butterfly webs!
The problem is the Prussians were the ones supporting the Dutch in the Belgian war of independance...
I suppose the ownership of Luxembourg was a big cause of the Franco-Prussian war, perhaps it does lead straight to the war early on and the Dutch agree to sell it to the Germans afterwards.
They can't grab out of there, that'd be a good place to do it otherwise.I don't see where the problem is, with that. Wallonia to the French, Flanders to the Dutch, Liegi and Luxemburg to Prussia.
Actually, during the Luxemburg Crisis in 1867 MANY Germans wanted to use this as excuse to go to war with France. Problem is, if we choose that as PoD, Luxemburg becomes a neuralgic place for France - probably it then becomes French when Germanxy loses its two big wars as per the opening post...
