AH Challenge:Chadian-Sudanese War Goes Hot

Chad and Sudan have been involved in a tit-for-tat war for a few years now, I think. How could we get that war to explode beyond what it is right now? The bigger the better, maybe, perhaps with France deploying a significant military presence into the area and getting dragged into a quagmire.

Don't think the people involved in the actual fighting would share that sentiment, but I get what you are saying.

Overall any major Chadian-Sudanese war would probably resemble the Libya-Chad conflict in the 1980s although I doubt the Sudanese or their Chadian rebel allies would make it all the way to the capital in N'Djamena (although a raid on the capital by Sudanese and Chadian rebel soldiers is entirely possible). The French would probably get involved somehow, probably by sending equipment and advisers first and then maybe a small expeditionary force. Once the Sudanese and their allies were kicked out of Chad or defeated in Chad, that would be all the French would need to withdraw. I doubt they would stick around if Chad decided to get adventurous in Sudan, particularly in the Darfur region.
