AH Challenge: British Empire becomes an Absolute Monarchy

I want a timeline where the King of England once again calls all the shots and rules with an iron rod upon his Kingdom.

Perhaps an absolute monarchy is installed after a CP victory in WW1. Other possibilities include a couple from WW2- either Edward VIII is installed as Gauleiter after a Nazi victory and decides to call himself King as well (or keep calling himself King if he never abdicated), or the entire Royal Family are killed and, by popular acclamation, Britain ends up ruled by the House of Churchill! After all, they offered him a dukedom, why not the throne?

All these, however (except perhaps the first) are unlikely bordering on ASB. You really need a POD before Victoria, and possibly in the 17th century!

It should be possible. Yeah, yeah, I know, Magna Charta, but France was also pretty decentralsied before, well, it centralised. On the how, though... well, it would have to be a time of troubles, and best early - the earlier the point of divergence, the greater the divergence, as we all know. So, maybe, the War of the Roses?

From when?

Henry VIII probably would qualify as an absolute monarch.
This is the After 1900 forum, so I assume he wants a King or Queen to become absolute monarch in the 20th century to the near future (otherwise it'ld be in the FH forum).

For me this is ASB.

Well if thats the case then would a friendly neighborhood mod kick this to pre-1900.

Votes from the semi-autonomous colonies in the years following DWBI GB would lead to large amounts of influence from the US, and thus an easily manipulated Canadian king...

You could always have Cromwell declare himself king, pretty- ASB but I have seen stuff done about it on this forum. After the declaration he rules absolutely.
