AH Challenge: Boring Borders

Although the events that lead to such borders might be quite fascinating the final result in a cartographical bore (and it could be worse). Although I do have a TL in mind in which this could happen, I think a challenge is more entertaining.
So what events could possibly lead to the following borders for the United States:
(place more importance in the border with Canada Mexico and the Confederacy than the state division, which do not necessarily need to be the ones proposed Mexico and Canada can also change internally).

??? ???

Britain/"Canada" gains OTL Washington state and everything east, but loses OTL Ontario and any possible connexion between east and west, and it's all one colony/kingdom. Hunh?!?

Also, Iroquois lands are called "Algonquin" !?!?

ASB, I'm afraid.

Bravo DuQuense!

That is a fine timeline you pulled out of nowhere. I admit, like most people, that I'm dubious about the Ontario-to-US thing, but anything is possible.

To the map, Maine always looked a bit odd to me. And WTF with the Eastern Shore? Definitely should be part of Maryland. In fact, if I could take a swing at the map, I'd wipe Delaware off of it as well! It definitely needs to be part of Maryland. And while I'm annoying various friends on the East Coast, i'll point out that Rhode Island should be part of Connecticut and Vermont part of New Hampshire!

Feel free to express any rage towards me you wish.

Well, for the border with Mexico, we could have Mexico do better in the Mexican War. They could keep all that South West land that way.

Also, Iroquois lands are called "Algonquin" !?!?
ASB, I'm afraid.

Placenames aren't always logical. Whoever named the region might have been vague about where the "Iroquois" and "Algonquins" were.

Not to mention how the hell does the South win a civil war without Virginia and half of Texas?

There could have been a second war, in which Virginia and half of Texas either left the South or were re-annexed somehow. That would be messy and interesting. :D:rolleyes:

Huh? What? Why?

You had a spambot post links to...uhh, shoewear if I remember rightly. Something like that. Clearly that account has now been deleted, along with the post. It's nothing against you, I assure you. You were just unlucky in the way that the thread appeared to run after the spam message was deleted. ;)

It wasn't me, it was the OP, which made me even more confused...

That did occur to me, but only after I already posted "Huh? What? Why?" and I couldn't be bothered deleting it.

Wait...

So in this map, Colorado is the Mormon state?

If this map continued to 20th century, where is the center of United States film industry?

What is the capital of Kingdom of Canada according to this map?

Because Los Angeles is in Mexico, will it be the center of Mexican film industry and northern headquarters of the Mexican networks?

Always like to see different maps

Unless its deliberate, you've spelt Tennessee, Arkansas and Louisiana wrong - maybe Kansas unless you meant it to be Kansa, which is quite a nice name, but I don't know if it would derive?

Best Regards
Grey Wolf
