Most, if not all, of what's in the Bible can be documented historically, like the
Assyrian, Babylonian, and Roman occupations. Even the House of David, the
dynasty of Israeli kings, has been independently documented.

You mean Jericho? Well, there's a theory that it was an earthquake that brought the walls of Jericho tumbling down. Earthquakes are pretty common in
the Middle East. There are a couple of geological faults in the area where the
European, and African plates, run past each other.

What if people didn't post threads which would inevitably descend into flamewars? Sorry, I should put that idea in ASB.

GAH!!

"Whichever you choose.

I like the part where a huge population of slaves strolls out of Egypt, without the Egyptian bureaucracy noticing that they're gone; probably too distracted with frogs raining and seas moving apart."

FIXED. :D

Hey, if you've seen any of Broz's other posts, you know he can't do any better.

Some of the bible is historical fact.

Exactly, and there is the fact that the Bible is to be read allegorically if you want to understand it fully. A purely literal interpretation of the Bible, as Philo of Alexandria, Augustine, Aquinas, Galileo, and every other intelligent biblical interpreter rightly understood, would result in self-contradiction and nonsense. It is a profound irony that both fundamentalists and certain vocal critics of religion both use the very same method.
