AH: Argentina get caught match fixing in the 1978 World Cup

What if sometime before, during or right after the Argentina-Peru game FIFA or someone in the media obtained some sort of evidence maybe even someone on the Peruvian side declaring that Argentina wanted to fix the match?

Bollocks!...the question always remains the same...why Argentina, that argentina national team, wasn't able to do Peru 6 goals on their own?... So if that was fixed, the 2 hitting balls that Peru shot to Fillol's fence, when match was 0-0, were "orchestrated?".

By the time they played, Perú was eliminated for good, lost 3-0 with Brazil, and if you watch the match in youtube, you would notice that they didn't loose 8-0 just because sheer luck...then they lost 1-0 against Poland, and again...poles had far better chances to, at least win 3 o 4 nill...

So by the time they played to Argentina, not only were out but splitted themselves for internal matters, as monetarial prizes that peruvian federation didn't pay, and because they were tired...yes, tired: Perú had the older average age team of the tournament, 32 o 34 years...they were almost the same team which played in Mexico 70.

So, why a team with hungry of glory, and players like Ardiles, Villa, Kempes, Passarella, Bertoni, Fillol couldn't be able to hit 6 times against that demoralised team, with inner fightings, tired and with their stars "absent" in the last 3 matches?

Oh, and months before WC 78, Argentina beat 3-1 Peru in Lima, and the 3 goals were made in 1st half, so it was not the first time Perú had so many goals in one time by Argentina

Someone cited that Argentina sent wheat to Perú, but the wheat was sent in May 1978...so, they have to fix all the road to create a match against Perú?, that's nonsense...

FIFA didn't care about too much about that time, and a proof of that was, that decisive matches started to play at the same time hour but after Germany vs Austria fiasco of WC 1982.

FIFA?

Someone from FIFA goes to the Argentine FA and has a quiet conversation about not letting the image of football get tarnished. Cigars are smoked. Cognac is swilled around in large balloon glasses. The state of the global economy is lamented. The state of football in Eastern Europe is celebrated, as Kevin Keegan' hairstyle. Politics are not discussed. The match goes ahead.

In mid-1983, the Argentine FA makes a donation to a charity that sponsors youth outreach programmes in the home nation of the FIFA official who has the conversation, which hires that selfsame official as a local consultant. At a quite generous rate.

Of course, that's just hearsay.
